Biography:

silicon carbide ceramics and their composites, including the basic research, key technology development, and application research. Dr. Xiumin Yao received her Bachelor degree from Wuhan University of Science and Technology in 1996, and obtained her Ph.D degree in 2005 in Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She has focused on powder modification treatment for the fabricating large-diameter silicon carbide ceramics, high-strength and high-toughness sealing materials, self-lubricating sealing materials, and microwave absorption materials. She has undertaken multiple scientific research tasks, including national key research and development plan projects, JPPT projects, general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, sub projects of the national key research and development plan, sub projects of the final assembly national defense project, Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, and Shanghai standardization pilot projects. She has published over 30 SCI papers as the first author and corresponding author, applied for over 130 patents, authorized over 70 patents, formulated 2 industry standards, 2 group standards, and 6 enterprise standards. Received honors such as the First Prize of Building Materials Science and Technology Award of China Building Materials Federation  The Chinese Ceramic Society (2021, R4), the Second Prize of Military Science and Technology Progress (2012, R8), the First Prize of Shanghai Technological Invention (2011, R10), the Outstanding Party Worker of Shanghai Science and Technology System (2021), and the "march-eighth red-banner pacesett" of Shanghai Science and Technology System (2017-2018). Currently, she is a member of the National Committee for Standardization of Mechanical Seals, and the Deputy Secretary General of the CSTM Standards Committee for Inorganic Nonmetallic Materials.
