Prof. Zheng Liaoying, is currently a researcher in the Research Center of Information Functional Ceramic Materials and Devices, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was engaged in research on the performance, preparation, and devices of piezoelectric and varistor ceramics for many years. In 2004 and 2010, he was conducted as a special researcher at the Polytechnic University on Hong Kong and the AIST on Japan. As the project leader, He has successively completed projects such as the "863" project, NSFC, international cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Shanghai Science and Technology Research Projects. He was also the technical leader of the Shanghai Industrial Technology Innovation Project Plan. He published over 60 academic papers in this field, applied for 35 invention patents (13 authorized), and won The Second Prize of Innovation, Ministry of Education, China (Piezo-Electric Micro-Devices, ranked 3), the first prize of Shanghai (High Performance Piezoelectric devices and applications, ranked 3), the NSAF Fund Excellence Award, and the first prize of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Science and Technology (ranked 2). He developed the ultra-high gradient zinc oxide varistors, DC zinc oxide varistors, and high-temperature piezoelectric ceramics, which were applied for national significant high-tech equipment, Shanghai rail transit, high-temperature flow meters, etc.
