Invited by Prof. Yubai Pan, Prof. Georges Boulon from University of Lyon visited SICCAS on March 8, 2012. During his visit, Prof. Georges Boulon gave a seminar entitled “Rare Earth Dopant Distribution in YAG Laser Ceramics and Perspectives”, which focused on the latest development of their research. His report attracted extensive interests and warmly discussed among the researchers and students of SICCAS.

The research group headed by Prof. Georges Boulon, which is in the laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Luminescent Materials, University of Lyon, concentrates their research on investigation of dopant distribution in transparent ceramics with the help of HR-TEM. For an in-depth look at the optical properties of transparent ceramics, they spend a detailed investigation on their microstructure, and have made great progress.
