Invited by Professor Zhaoyin Wen, Dr. Park Joo-Seok, Dr. Lee Ki-Woo and Dr. Han Don-Yeol, from Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER), visited SICCAS on 25 March, 2010. They received warm reception from Professor Lidong Chen, vice director of SICCAS. Dr. Park gave a presentation entitled “Energy R&D status of KIER” and discussed it with almost 30 researchers of SICCAS.

KIER has devoted itself in R&D on new and renewable energy technology and energy conversion & storage systems since its founding. Dr. Park is the principal researcher of Energy Conversion & Storage Materials Research Center. In his over one hour’s report, Dr. Park introduced the Energy Strategy, Research Fields, Budget and Employees, Commercialization of scientific research and so on of KIER. Dr. Park also reported the latest progress achieved by KIER on Thin-Film Solar Cell, CO2 capture technologies, Fuel Cell and waste heat recovery technologies in detail. In his presentation, Dr. Park emphasized the development concept of “Low Carbon and Green Growth”. After the presentation, Dr. Park visited the Lab of SOFC and Solid State Secondary Batteries. Professor Tinglian Wen and Zhaoyin Wen introduced the recent development of each research group to the Korea guests, respectively. Both sides showed great interests in some research fields and expressed their willingness to cooperate.
