Invited by Professor Jianjun Liu, Professor Oleg Prezhdo from University of Southern California visited Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS) from December 4, 2018 to January 4, 2019.

During the visit, Prof. Prezhdo joined regular group meetings at the Integrated Computational Materials Research Center (ICMRC). The researchers and students from several groups exchanged research interests and discussed extensively on the ongoing projects with Prof. Prezhdo.

Prof. Prezhdo gave a talk on “Time-Domain Modeling of Excited State Dynamics in Halide Perovskites” in a workshop organized by ICMRC. In this talk, Prof. Oleg Prezhdo introduced the method on time-domain time-dependent density-functional theory molecular dynamics and its application to studying the excited-state carrier dynamics. Prof. Oleg summarized the recent works from his group on applying this method to the halide perovskite materials, which have emerging as a very attractive type of materials for photovoltaic applications. Prof. Prezhdo was also invited as a visiting professor by SICCAS.

Professor Oleg Prezhdo has held a senior professorship at Department of Chemistry, University of Southern California since 2014. Currently, he serves as a Senior Editor for the Journal of Physical Chemistry, Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters and Surface Science Reports. He is the recipient of multiple national and international awards. He also holds invited professorships in France, Germany, Japan and China. His research interests range from fundamental aspects of semiclassical physics to excited-state dynamics in nano-scale and biological systems. He has authored/co-authored more than 300 papers in the refereed impacted international journals and delivered 350 invited keynote and plenary lectures at international conferences. His publications have received more than 14000 citations with an H-index of 67. 

Prof. Oleg Prezhdo gave a talk
