Prof. Hiromi Yamashita from Osaka University visited SICCAS

Invited by Prof. Wenzhong Wang, Prof. Hiromi Yamashita from Osaka University visited SICCAS on November 26, 2011. During his visit, Prof. Hiromi Yamashita gave a seminar entitled “Design and Application of Single-sit Photocatalysts Using Nanostructured Materials” which focused on the recent development of single-site photocatalysts. His talk received extensive interests and warm discussion among the researchers and graduate students in SICCAS.

Yamashita research group, in the Division of Materials and Manufacturing Science in Osaka University (http://www.mat.eng.osaka-u.ac.jp/msp1/MSP1-HomeJ.htm), develops nanostructured porous photocatalysts. Due to the special structure, porous materials have broad applications in photocatalysis, such as photocatalytic decontamination, self clean, hydrogen production, reduction of CO2, etc. Prof. Yamashita has profound experience in the research of porous photocatalyst, with 304 papers, 57 reviews, 37 books, and 30 patents. He is also the associate editor of several international scientific journals such as Applied Catalysis: B Environmental (IF 4.75) etc.
