Prof. Dr. Martin Köckerling from Universität Rostock Visited SICCAS

Invited by Professor Jing-tai Zhao, Prof. Dr. Martin Köckerling, from Institut für Chemie, Universität Rostock, Germany, visited SICCAS on March 14th, 2011. He received warm welcome from the attendants and gave a informative lecture on "Metal Containing Ionic Liquids". After that, Dr. Martin had in-depth discussions with more than 20 researchers of SICCAS.

Prof. Dr. Martin Köckerling is a senior and talent expert on the promising area - Ionic Liquids. And his research works are mainly about Ionic Liquids with transition metal complex anions, especially magnetic ionic liquids .In his report, Prof. Köckerling introduced the history of ionic liquids, the excellent properties of ionic liquids, and applications in material synthesis. In addition, he illustrated some specific examples of magnetic ionic liquids. In a word, the report was attractive and illuminating.

After the report, the attendants and Prof. Köckerling had an active discussion on ionic liquids, and Prof. Köckerling enthusiastically gave detailed explanations to the questions raised. Finally, all researchers present gave warm applause to thank Prof. Köckerling for his amazing and excellent report.
