At the 27th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT’2008) held on Aug. 3-8, 2008 in Oregon, USA, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS) was honored to win the host right of the 29th ICT ( ICT’2010) after a strong competition with a few other application institutions from other countries. 

  ICT is the only annual academic conference sponsored by the International Thermoelectric Society. Most of scientists working in thermoelectric area all over the world join the conference and exchange their leading-edge researches on advanced TE materials, devices, modules and their applications. At ICT’2008, more than 400 scientists from 30 different countries, including Prof. Lidong Chen, Prof. Wenqing Zhang, and a few students from SICCAS, joined the conference.

  During the conference, The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) held an annual meeting of ITS board members to select an institution to host ICT’2010. Together with a few competing applicants from other countries, Prof. Lidong Chen gave an application presentation on behalf of SICCAS. The final voting by the ITS board members selected SICCAS to host ICT’2010, which is scheduled to be held in June, 2010.
