SICCAS Inked Cooperation Agreement with KICET

  On the afternoon of May 29th,2008, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement of materials research institutes between China and South Korea was held at the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People' Republic of China. Chinese vice Minister of Science and Technology, Jianlin Cao, and the delegation of South Korean Knowledge Economy Ministry headed by Lee Youn-Ho, South Korean Knowledge Economy Minister, were present at the ceremony. Vice President of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, CAS, Lixin Song, signed a frame contract with Korea Institute of Ceramic Engineering Technology (KICET) at the ceremony.

  The S&T cooperation between China and South Korea can be traced back to 1992 when the two countries established diplomatic relations. Through all these years, the S&T cooperation and exchanges have developed rapidly and obtained prominent achievements, which played a very positive role in pushing the economic growth and S&T progress of the two sides and become an important part of the partnership.

  SICCAS and KICET have similar research areas, good cooperation foundation and common cooperative will. The Agreement will push deeper cooperation and exchanges in joint studies, information sharing, personnel exchange and academic exchanges between both parties.

  Vice Minister Jianlin Cao and Minister Lee Youn-Ho also held a friendly talk at the signing ceremony. They agreed unanimously that the Agreement marked a turning point for both parties to move forward to a brighter future.
