Prof. E. Zych from University of Wroclaw in Poland visited SICCAS

On the invitation of Prof. S. W. Wang (structural ceramic engineering research center, SICCAS), Prof. E. Zych (Faculty of chemistry in University of Wroclaw, Poland) spent a week in SICCAS after he had attended the fifteenth international conference on composites/nano engineering (ICCE-15) opened on July 15-21, 2007 in Haikou, China. He gave a lecture entitled “New progress in Lu2O3: Eu nanocrystalline powders” and Prof. Wang also presented the recent research on upconversion luminescence of RE3+-doped oxide ceramics in SICCAS. They have a lively and detailed discussion together with graduate students.

This is the third time for Prof. E. Zych visited SICCAS after setting up cooperation in 2004. They have done much in the past three years, such as co-writing papers, co-applying projects, visiting each other and so on. Both sides reviewed the cooperation in the past three years and were satisfied with what they had achieved. They also discussed how to push the cooperation practically and fruitfully and expressed their wish to further potential cooperation.
