Joint Laboratory for New Energy Materials cosponsored by SIC and USTC

Shanghai Institute of Ceramics (SIC) and University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) have agreed to establish a Joint Laboratory for New Energy Materials. The signing ceremony, held on April 12th at SIC, was attended by Director Hong-Jie Lou (SIC), Deputy Director Li-Dong Chen (SIC), Prof. Chuan-Jie Guo (Party Secretary, USTC), and Prof. Chu-Sheng Chen (Executive Dean of School of Chemistry and Materials Science, USTC).

The Laboratory will be jointly operated by SIC and USTC on the basis of open communication, complementary strength and collective effort. It will form a focal point for combining and integrating their existing outstanding capabilities in the energy materials area. The Laboratory will secure new funding and conduct new R&D in the energy related projects. By doing so, it aims to develop new generations of advanced energy materials.

The Joint Laboratory for New Energy Materials is the fourteenth laboratory of this kind between USTC and CAS Institutes. The Laboratory could set a stage for the development of future State Key Laboratory under CAS.
