On March 13, 2007, Prof. Takagimi Yanagitani from Matarial Development Dept., Konoshima Chemical Co.,Ltd visited Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS). He was warmly welcomed by Prof. Yubai Pan, Prof. Shiwei Wang and Prof. Xiqi Feng of SICCAS. After brief introduction of Konoshima Chemical Co.,Ltd, Japan, Prof. Takagimi Yanagitani delivered an academic speech on Konoshima's Optical Ceramics. In his speech, Prof. Takagimi Yanagitani introduced the research history, development and applications on optical ceramics in detail. The wonderful report of Prof. Takagimi Yanagitani aroused strong interest of many scientific researchers and graduate students. After the report, Prof. Takagimi Yanagitani had a warmly discussion with us.

In recent years, the research on laser ceramics had made a prominent progress in our institute. Through academic communion and exchange visits, the YAG laser ceramics prepared by our institute will realize laser output with high power and high efficiency.
