Scientists from Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique Visited SICCAS
With the introduction of Consulate General of the Republic of France in Shanghai, three scientists from Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) including Prof. Alain Ibanez visited SICCAS on Nov. 23rd 2006. Prof. Zhaoyin Wen, Prof. Jingtai Zhao, Prof. Jiayue Xu and Prof. Qiuming Gao of SICCAS welcomed the visitors. After Prof. Wen introduced to the guests research progress, organization structure, personnel configuration, graduate students education and other profile of SICCAS, Prof. Alain Ibanez introduced the research work on crystal materials of CNRS. The scientists from two sides then had a vivacious discussion on crystal materials research.
Accompanied by Prof. Zhao and Prof. Xu, French guests visited the laboratory of crystal growth and other research groups for design, synthesis, structures and properties of inorganic non-metal functional compound after the rewarding discussion. The French guests were extremely interested in crystal research of SICCAS, and highly praised the single crystal of such high quality and large size grown by SICCAS. Prof. Alain Ibanez even happily asked for a photo taken while holding a piece of the crystals. Besides, French guests also visited the Inorganic Materials Analysis and Testing Center and the SICCAS Exhibition Room.
Through communication, scientists from both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation on the basis of exchanging visits, especially to further discuss the establishment of joint lab on single crystal and functional ceramics, so as to open up cooperation and upgrade exchanges.
