At the invitation of Prof. Shiwei Wang, Prof. Binner and Dr. Xujin Bao from Loughborough University, UK, visited Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences on Nov. 11^th afternoon.

After brief introduction of Loughborough University, UK, Prof. Binner delivered an academic speech on Processing Nanostructured Zirconia ceramics. Prof. Shiwei Wang then introduced basic profile and research advances of SICCAS to the visitors, and answered their questions. Prof. Binner and Prof. Wang had an in-depth discussion and exchange on research fields of common interests. Finally Prof. Wang showed the visitors around some laboratories and facilities in SICCAS.

As one of the most famous universities in Britain, Loughborough University has a history of almost one hundred year. Professor Jon Binner, Director of the Institute of Polymer Technology and Materials Engineering, is a renowned scholar in the international field of material research, and has published over 120 papers in international journals. With his major research activities focused on microwave sintering, colloidal molding and nano-structured ceramics, Prof. Binner has been teaching in six famous universities in the UK and US, and has won various awards.
