It has been 47 years since the group was established by academician Chuanxian Ding in 1959. The group is engaged in the study, exploitation and application of plasma spray coatings. 5 series coatings of high temperature heat insulation coating, wearable coating, inferred radiance coating, electrolysis catalyzing coating and biological compatible coating, up to 20 types of coatings were included. The coatings have been applied in national defence, avigation, weaving, chemistry, machine and clinical iatrology etc, and good economic and social benefit have been achieved. More than 20 achievements have been obtained 13 of which were awarded by nation, China Academy and Shanghai administration. And what’s more, more than 180 papers have been published on domestic and overseas scientific journals or conference.
