Director, Lixin Song

Prof. Song was born in Jiangsu province in August 1962. He’s now the director of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, CAS, and director of the Key Laboratory of Special Inorganic Coatings, CAS.

He received his bachelor degree from Zhejiang University in August 1982, his master degree from East China University of Science and Technology in July 1993, and his doctor degree from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, CAS, in July 1996. After graduated, Prof. Song was engaged in researches on inorganic coatings materials. He was appointed associate professor in 1997 and professor in December 2000. From the year of 1999 to 2000, Prof. Song worked as a visiting scholar at the Surface Engineering Institute of German Fraunhofer Society.

Prof. Song was in charge of several national and provincial research projects, including 1 National Natural Science Fund, 3 national key projects under the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, 3 projects under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1 Shanghai standardization research project, 5 key material research projects of manned spacecraft Shenzhou and 2 standardization projects of manned spacecraft, etc. He has also issued more than 100 academic papers.

Besides, Prof. Song is president of Shanghai Ceramic Engineering Society, a council member of the Subcommittee on Science and Technology of China Quality Control Association, an editorial board member of the Journal of Inorganic Materials, etc.
