
Academician, CAE, Chuanxian Ding
Prof. Ding, an outstanding materials scientist, was born in Haimen, Jiangsu Province, in February 1936. He was graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Fudan University in 1959, and elected to be an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995.
From 1983 to 1985, Prof. Ding worked at the Materials Department of Stony Brook University SUNY as a visiting scholar. Later he worked at the Inorganic Materials Institute of Japan and the University Erlangen of Germany for a short period of time. At present, Prof. Ding is the professor of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, CAS. He is the council member of Chinese Materials Research Society as well as editorial board member of the Journal of Silicates, the Journal of Inorganic Materials and the Journal of Friction respectively. He’s the member of the 10th CPPCC National Committee (also the 9th).
Prof. Ding has been engaged in the researches on science, technology and engineering of the inorganic coating materials for 40 years, including processing science, micro-structural control, properties as well as application. He has acquired 19 scientific achievements with 12 national, CAS, and municipal awards. |
