Research Fields

Main Research Background

Our research group dedicated to the design and preparation of optical crystals, including laser crystals, nonlinear crystals and  LED materials. Research works have won many important awards, such as:

1.    The 2003 National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize

  "Development of Large-size High-quality Sapphire Crystal"

2.   The 2001 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress First Prize

 "Research of Four-inch Sapphire Crystal”

3.      The 2004 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress First Prize

 "Research and Application of Yb-doped and Tetravalent chromium ion-doped laser crystal"

And so on.

Present Research Field

1.         Laser Crystals

1)        Local structural design and performance control of rare earth-doped wide spectrum fluoride laser material.

2)        Research of DUV lasers based on new fluoride crystals.

3)        Research of CaF2 laser crystal for high power lasers.

4)        Research of rare earth doped SSO/YSO laser crystals for mid-infrared lasers.

5)        Ti-doped sapphire single crystal with large size and high quality for ultra-fast laser applications.

And so on.

2.         Nonlinear crystals

1)        Research of large size YCOB crystal for OPCPA. 

3.         LED materials

1)        Sapphire single crystal with large size and high quality for the substrate of LED films with broad band gap.

2)        Research of EFG method for β-Ga2O3 single crystal for the substrate LED.
