Abstract: Spectroscopic properties of the Sr2CeO4 nanocrystals under UV excitation were investigated. Blue emission associated with charge transfer (CT) Ce4+-O2- transition was observed. The absorption, excitation and emission spectra of obtained Sr2CeO4 nanocrystals were analysed in details. In particular, the influence of the average grain size of Sr2CeO4 nanocrystals on their optical properties was studied.

Brief introduction: Born in 1976 in Wroclaw (Poland). Doctor of chemistry at the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research Polish Academy of Sciences in Wroclaw. Director's Proxy for implementations and research projects (Since 2005). Present research activities are laser spectroscopy, nanocrystals syntheses, sol-gel materials, rare-earth elements, nanoceramic processing and characterization and luminescence properties of the rare-earth ions in glasses, nanoceramics and nanocomposites. He has published more than 110 publications in international journals and book chapters (h-index 22, >1600 total citations) and 15 patents and patents pending.
