Shanghai Institute of Ceramics officially put the Jiading postgraduate house into use

On October 12, in order to further improve the living environment and enhance the sense of belongings, the postgraduates have officially moved into the Jiading Postgraduate house. A housewarming ceremony was held on October 13, when Mr. Shi Xun, Deputy Director of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, attended the ceremony and welcomed the students to move in. The completion and opening of the new student house in Jiading is a great event for the Institute, said Mr. Shi, after several relocations in the previous period, the student house of Jiading Postgraduate has finally returned to Jiading Campus, which improves the living environment, shortens the commuting distance, and provides convenience for students' study and life. At the same time, Mr. Shi also put forward some expectations to the students staying. He expected everyone to cherish and take care of the new dormitory facilities and work together to operate and maintain the new environment. Students are also welcomed to make comments or suggestions to improve the living experience together during the living process. 

The postgraduate education facilities project is a science and education infrastructure project approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in the "13th Five-Year Plan". With twelve floors above ground and one floor below, the new apartment's 11,045 square meters of floor space housed 285 student dormitories, each with its own bathroom. The apartment will also provide the Institute with graduate education facilities like a staircase classroom as well as living facilities such as laundry, water boiler facilities, commissary (in the pipeline) and supporting facilities such as a step classroom, dance room (in the pipeline), music rehearsal room (in the pipeline), and non-motorized vehicle shed. 

The new apartments are well-equipped with reasonable functions. Among them is a public area on the first basement level, which has been equipped with men's and women's laundry roomswhere a dance studio, a music rehearsal space, and other newly useful spaces will soon be utilized in addition. The student dormitories are located on the 1st-12th levels, and each room has its own bathroom.
